Welcoming Three New Summer Volunteers

It's summertime, and around this time we welcome new volunteers who, free of school or other responsibilities, share their time by serving here at the Harry Tompson center.  Our first new summer volunteer is Julian Brummelte.  Julian comes all the way from Germany and is spending a year volunteering in the US.  He served for nine months in El Pso at Annunciation House for homeless individuals without documents, housing up to 50 people a night.  Since May, he has been in New Orleans helping at the HTC Mondays and Fridays while also living and working at the New Orleans Catholic Worker.  This week we also welcome two more summer volunteers.  Louie Hotop is with the Missouri Province of the Jesuits and is currently studying at St Louis University.  He chose to spend his summer between classes with us at the Center while living with fellow Jesuits at Jesuit High School.  Even though it's hot, Louie says there's no other city he'd rather be this summer!  Speaking of Jesuit High, we welcome current Jesuit High student Liam Fitzpatrick to the volunteer team. Liam is off for the summer and has offered to volunteer with us during his free time between training for cross country and working at Angelo Brocato's.  The Jesuits certainly succeeded in instilling in these men a heart of service!  All of these volunteers bring great enthusiasm and fresh energy to our Center.  We are grateful that they are taking the time to be with us and have no doubt that they too will be greatly blessed by the experience!
